Nursing Care
While a safe, comfortable environment and advanced technology and equipment are important to providing excellent care, it is the staff who are the most important element of our success. We have a team approach to patient care. All disciplines work together to ensure that the physical, emotional and social needs of the patient are met. A team of health care professionals meets and evaluates each resident after admission to establish a Care Plan tailored to the resident’s needs. This plan is reviewed quarterly and residents and families are encouraged to attend.
The Director of Nursing, who is in charge of patient care in the facility, manages a staff comprised of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. These dedicated professionals serve as liaisons between the patient and the physician. They provide treatments, administer medication and monitor the patient’s progress 24 hours a day. They keep the physician and the family informed about the resident’s condition as needed. Our staff members receive continuing education about the most effective, up-to-date ways of caring for the
special health issues of our residents. Our nursing services include pain management, restorative care, wound care, post-surgical care, cardiac care and enteral and intravenous therapy. Each patient has access to the nearest nursing station through an emergency call system, allowing him to receive assistance immediately.
